What Is Acute Impetigo ?
Impetigo is a highly contagious bacterial skin infection that leads to the development of sores and crusted patches on the skin.
Common Symptoms
- Red sores or blisters
- Honey-coloured or golden crusting
Exclusion Criteria - Who is this Service not suitable for ?
- People with an extensive infection or an infection that is spreading widely
- People who have a fever
- People with an infection located close to the eyes
- Individuals aged less than 2 months
If you are feeling generally unwell or have symptoms that could indicate sepsis, seek urgent medical care from your GP or your nearest Emergency Department.
