Seasonal Flu Vaccination Service available in Cobh CarePlus Pharmacy
The Seasonal Flu Vaccination Service will be starting shortly in Cobh Care Plus Pharmacy. Most people will qualify for a free vaccination * (see eligbility information below).
It is important to get the flu vaccine every year to protect yourself and those around you!

Flu Vaccination Eligibility Information 2015 / 2016*
Patients 65 years and older who hold a Medical Card, Doctor Visit Card or HAA
Vaccine: provided free of charge by the HSE.
Fee for Service: The HSE will pay for the administration of the vaccine.
All other patients 65 years and older who are not eligible as above
Vaccine: provided free of charge by the HSE.
Fee for Service: €15
At-risk patients aged 18-64 who hold a Medical Card, Doctor Visit Card or HAA
Vaccine: provided free of charge by the HSE.
Fee for Service: The HSE will pay €for the administration
At-risk patients aged 18-64 who are not eligible as above
Vaccine: provided free of charge by the HSE.
Fee for Service: €15
All other patients over 18 years who request a vaccination
Vaccine cost & service fee: €25

Who are at-risk patients?
persons aged 65 years and older;
persons 18-64 with a chronic illness requiring regular follow up, e.g. chronic respiratory
disease including cystic fibrosis, moderate or severe asthma, chronic heart disease, chronic
renal disease, diabetes mellitus, haemoglobinopathies, chronic liver disease, chronic
neurological disease including multiple sclerosis, hereditary and degenerative disorders of the central nervous system, etc.;
those who are immunosuppressed due to disease or treatment including those with missing
or non-functioning spleens;
persons with Down syndrome
those with morbid obesity, i.e. body mass index over 40;
all pregnant women (vaccine can be given at any stage of pregnancy);
healthcare workers;
residents of nursing homes and other long-stay institutions;
carers;
and people with regular contact with pigs, poultry or water fowl.
